Ray Mahaffey, 49, husband of Susie Braswell Mahaffey, died Friday, July 25, 2008.

Mr. Mahaffey was born September 24, 1958, in Greenville to Betty Howell Mahaffey and the late Willard Mahaffey. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating, camping and dancing. He was the owner and operator of Ray's Custom Woodworking and was formerly a firefighter with the Boiling Springs Fire District. He was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church, where he attended the Adult One Sunday School Class.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his mother, Betty Parker and her husband Jack; a son, Larry Hollingsworth Jr. and his wife Charity; two daughters, Annette Riley and her husband Kevin, and Sherry Derr; a brother, Wayne Mahaffey and his wife Libba; a sister, Lisa Hall and her husband Robert; six grandchildren, Caleb, Kady, Tanner, Conner, Kendall and Claire; and six nieces and nephews.
